service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and
accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services’
responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.

Job
Summary

Reporting to the Director ‘ Facilities Operations, this position provides primary support to the Director position,
leadership, direction, oversight, technical troubleshooting of failed equipment and other infrastructure systems, strategic planning for
Operations’ initiatives and technical support to Plant Operations in support of the mission and vision of Augusta University across all
campus locations. This includes management of Operations budgets, maintaining deferred and preventative maintenance programs and monitoring
the unexpended plant budget. This position will also lead Operations Training, Safety, and Quality Control programs and annual/semi-annual
inspections for compliance and seasonal readiness.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited
to:

Leadership

Provides support to the Director, Facilities Operations position leading the Operations unit in times of
Directors absence. Includes serving in a leadership role to approximately 100 staff and participating in long-range strategic planning
efforts impacting Operations effectiveness for each unit including Grounds.

Tracts, and monitors the operating budgets for each area
of Facilities Operations focusing on implementing cost-effectives processes and procedures related to maintaining University physical
assets.

Collects and disseminates data related to Operations efficiency and effectiveness creating performance metrics used in
managerial decision-making efforts. Establishes operational, benchmark, and performance metrics for Facilities Operations and assists
Managers in utilizing metrics to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and guide managerial decisions.

Participates in committees and
individual meetings with academic and administrative units of the university as needed.

Oversees training for Operations staff
related to safety, procedures, policies, and compliance efforts.

Assists Operations leadership with recruitment/hiring of new staff
as well as specific guidance for individual performance concerns.

Troubleshooting

Provides primary troubleshooting of
failed infrastructure systems and equipment leading efforts to restore systems and equipment into service minimizing
downtime.

Provides sound engineering assessments and recommendations related to maximizing system and equipment
reliability.

Analyzes performance and operational stability of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, controls, and conveyance systems and
equipment.

Provides primary technical oversight of all university energy plants systems and equipment using sound engineering skills
to optimize efficiency and reliability.

Serves as a liaison between the university and local utility providers related to natural
gas, electricity, water, and sewage systems.

Utilizes effective critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills to make timely
decisions and communicates tactfully to university leadership, contractors, and Operations staff.

Work Management

Leads
efforts to maximize Operations utilization of existing Computerized Maintenance Management

System (CMMS). Develops and implements
procedures to collect data related to Work Order management and tracking efforts.

Leads development and monitoring of a robust
Preventative Maintenance program for all university mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.

Trains Operations staff on using
the CMMS to perform and manage day-to-day job duties related to Work Orders.

Ensures rapid response to critical equipment and system
failures by in-house maintenance staff and outside vendors.

Serves as a primary liaison between Operations and Project Delivery staff
as related to progress on maintenance focused projects including MRR-funded and Deferred Maintenance projects.

Develops, implements,
and oversees Operations Quality Control efforts to ensure services provided to the University meets and/or exceeds expectations for quality
workmanship.

Monitors and controls costs of labor and materials to provide a high level of maintenance support.

Monitors and
manages inventories of parts, tools, and supporting items needed to provide the expected level of maintenance support.

Contract
Management

Review proposals for new and/or revised services contracts for content and determine reasonable costs of services
provided.

Review existing service contracts for compliance and adherence to contract requirements.

Participate as needed in
discussions with vendors related to resolutions to contract issues.

Perform regular appraisals of vendor performance including
providing constructive feedback to the vendor.

Accurately assesses vendor invoices for payment and processes payments in a timely
manner.

Communications

Consistently provide professional, accurate, tactful, and timely written and verbal
communications to

Facilities staff and other university staff.

Establishes and maintains positive, respectful, collaborative
working relationships with all levels of

Augusta University and USG staff.

Develop and lead group presentations and meetings
including work groups and committees as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Building Science, Construction
Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field and minimum of five 5 years of experience leading an institutional facility
maintenance organization.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F 8:00am – 5:00pm (work outside of the normal business hours
will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Band: 14

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications
of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
