Job Description Summary:
FOOD PREPARER – Responsible for preparing foods and/or performing cleaning tasks in a kitchen or dining room and for
following directions concerning dining room duties. Provide service in a food service facility. Prepare and portion food items (e.g.,
desserts, salads, beverages). Clean and pare vegetables and fruits. Serve food at counter stations. Prepare food trays. Set up and maintain
food items, condiments and utensils, glasses, napkins, etc. for cafeteria or snack bar. Set up buffet, serve drinks and clean up food
service areas. Inform supervisor of needed supplies. Carry bulk food from storeroom or to serving line. Perform related duties as
required.
FOOD LINE SERVER – Provide food and
wait-staff service for special events in college dining and conference rooms. Prepare food service areas. Service dining and conference room
facilities for catered events. Assist with set up of tables and furniture in party configurations and preparation of dining tables by
spreading tablecloths, preparing and setting silver services and napkins, glassware, and condiments. Assist with simple food preparation as
needed. Collect food items from kitchen to match line service and event menu and transports to service/dining areas. Ensure food is properly
handled in accordance with sanitation standards, and maintained at correct temperatures. Wait, bus and food service areas Keep work area
clean. Inform supervisor of supply and equipment needs. Perform related duties as required.
CASHIER -
Operate a food service unit cashier station to receive food payments, disburse change, and service customers. Prepares cashier station for
opening by securing cash from supervisor. Ensure the correctness of cash register charges and value of food items. Receive cash and checks,
and student meal tickets. Close cashier booth and accounts. Turn in all monies and tickets received during a shift. Verify cash on hand
against cash register tape. Perform related duties as required.
DISHWASHER – The purpose of this position
is to maintain clean and orderly conditions of work areas. Additional duties include, but are not limited to collecting dirty dishes,
machine set up, loading and operating the dish-washing machine. The Dishwasher will also be responsible for distributing clean items to
appropriate areas, assisting with food preparation, food display and service.
Minimum
Qualifications:
FOOD PREPARER: Six (6) months of experience in simple
cooking, food preparation, food display and service. Ability to read and learn recipes and to prepare/process simple foods and
salads.
FOOD LINE SERVER: Six (6) months of experience
as a food server/waiter in a food service or dining establishment. Ability to read and follow instructions.
CASHIER: High school diploma or equivalent. Six (6) months of experience as a cashier in a medium to large-volume
operation.
DISHWASHER – Six months experience dish washing, food preparation, food display and service.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
FOOD
PREPARER: High school diploma or equivalent. More than six months of experience in simple cooking, food
preparation, food display and service.
FOOD LINE SERVER: High school diploma or equivalent. More than six months of experience as a food server/waiter in a food service
or dining establishment, including set ups and food service for catered events.
CASHIER: Coursework in
cashiering and/or bookkeeping. More than six months of experience gained in a food service or dining establishment.
DISHWASHER – High school diploma or equivalent. More than six months of experience in simple cooking, food preparation,
food display and service.
