Position Information

The
Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will support the development and launch of inpatient psychiatric services at View Hospital
in Colton, CA. This role is designed to expand access to high-quality behavioral health care by providing direct patient care to pediatric
and adolescent populations in an inpatient setting. The position plays a critical role in supporting program growth, ensuring timely access
to care, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered treatment. The full
salary range for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner- is $170,735.76 – $239,827.68 annually. We base salary offers on a
variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. The
successful candidate will be placed on the salary range based on years of experience from date of licensure in alignment with the union
contract. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take
over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University
policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may
impose additional requirements.

Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Completion of a
    Master’s Degree program as a Nurse Practitioner

Experience

  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a Nurse
    Practitioner.
  • Must meet UC credentialing requirements.
  • Patient care experience in a behavioral health or related setting.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to make emergency decisions quickly. Strong interpersonal skills and
excellent bedside manner.

The Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide inpatient
psychiatric care at View Hospital, including evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning in collaboration with the care team.
This role supports clinical coverage, program launch, and operational readiness for a high-need patient population.

Key
Responsibilities

  • 1. Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental status exams, risk assessments, and
    diagnostic formulation. 2. Assume ongoing responsibility for assigned patients in the inpatient behavioral health setting. 3. Diagnose and
    manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, including medication management and therapeutic interventions. 4. Develop, implement, and
    document individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. 5. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment
    plans, and ensure continuity of care throughout admission. 6. Respond to patient-related communications and document all encounters in the
    electronic medical record. 7. Collaborate with physicians and care teams to establish care parameters and support discharge planning. 8.
    Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including admission notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries. 9. Coordinate and
    recommend appropriate diagnostic studies, consultations, and referrals.

  • Provide education to patients and families on mental
    health conditions, treatment plans, medication adherence, safety planning, and community resources.

  • Develop and provide clinical
    guidance and education to staff involved in patient care. Serve as a resource to support quality, safety, and best practices within the
    inpatient behavioral health team.
