The New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) is an integral component of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The experiment station provides a diverse range of research, extension, and education programs that serve the people of New Jersey and the urban, suburban, and rural communities in which they live. Through its Cooperative Extension offices in all 21 New Jersey counties, dedicated 4-H agents, Extension specialists, Family & Community Health Sciences educators, and Agriculture and Natural Resources agents work to serve New Jersey residents in every area of the state. In addition, off-campus field stations and farms focus on research ranging from support for fisheries, agriculture and allied businesses to support for youth and teens, while several centers and institutes on the George H. Cook Campus at Rutgers-New Brunswick engage in world-class research to provide solutions for a range of issues faced by New Jersey residents.

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Unit Admin/Specialist – Workforce Wellness for the Family and Community Health Sciences Department within the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES).

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Coordinates and provides comprehensive administrative support for nutrition education initiatives, including scheduling, logistics, and oversight of virtual and in person workshops.
  • Supports the development, organization, and maintenance of program materials for nutrition, physical activity, and wellness sessions, including coordination of cooking demonstrations and educational content.
  • Manages and maintains program communication channels, including social media platforms and outreach materials, to support promotion, registration, and participant engagement.
  • Tracks, compiles, and maintains administrative records, including attendance data, success stories, reports, and required documentation for grant and program reporting.
  • Performs administrative and operational functions such as data management, records maintenance, filing, and coordination of research, evaluation, and compliance activities in support of program operations.

FLSA: Nonexempt

Salary Details

$23 – $24 per hour

We also take into consideration market benchmarks, if and when appropriate, and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure. Working Hours

Up to 19.5 hours per week

This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.

Terms of Appointment: Temporary Staff Appointment – Hourly

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong leadership and communication skills for participant recruitment and program coordination.
  • Proficiency in social media management and basic content creation.
  • Detail-oriented with experience in data entry and record keeping.
  • Ability to conduct academic research and support data evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) to support bilingual outreach preferred.
  • Familiarity with nutrition and public health topics is a plus.
