Cinespia is celebrating its 25th anniversary of cemetery screenings with three classic movies.
The outdoor movie series will screen “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial,” “Moulin Rouge” and “Mulholland Drive” to kick off the summer season on Memorial Day Weekend.
The Steven Spielberg-directed movie “E.T.,” starring a young Drew Barrymore and Henry Thomas, will kick things off on May 23.
“Moulin Rouge” and “Mulholland Drive” are also celebrating their 25th anniversaries as well this year. The Baz Luhrmann-directed movie will be screened on May 24, and David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive” will be screened on May 30.
“We’re so back, LA!” Cinesepia said in its newsletter on Tuesday. “The wait is over and the party is where you left it. Cinespia’s 25th summer season has arrived, and the Fairbanks Lawn at Hollywood Forever Cemetery is once again your favorite place to picnic, dance, and fall in love with movies under the stars.”
The screenings are presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video.
Cinespia’s screenings at the cemetery are “a full-blown movie party with DJs spinning, beer and wine flowing, the grill sizzling, and our free photobooth ready for your main-character energy.”
Gates open at 6:45 p.m. for all three movies, with the shows beginning at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.
“Bring your picnic blanket and your crew—because after 25 years, we’re still making magic together.”
