Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time time limited position: Assistant Teal Nation Buyer in Teal Nation Retail.

Required Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and experience as a Merchandise Buyer in a retail setting. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in the university-branded apparel industry or a collegiate retail environment with two (2) years of experience.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the end-to-end processing of purchase orders, from initial entry in the retail management system to tracking shipments and verifying arrival. Monitor stock levels for core apparel and seasonal collections to ensure high-demand items are consistently replenished for both in-store and e-commerce.
- Generate and analyze weekly sales reports to identify top-performing SKUs and slow-moving inventory. Provide actionable insights to the Assistant Director of Merchandising regarding markdown strategies and the performance of items and sales on the Teal Nation Rewards mobile app.
- Coordinate the logistical setup and inventory selection for off-site venues and community events. This may include managing the transport of merchandise, setting up professional displays in temporary environments, and overseeing point-of-sale operations during events.
- Collaborate with the creative team to ensure new arrivals are accurately represented online. Assist in writing compelling product descriptions, managing digital tags for shoptealnation.com, and ensuring that new arrivals align with the current marketing calendar and holiday promotions.
- Translate seasonal buying themes into physical and digital displays. Assist in the layout of the sales floor and curate featured collections online.
Time Limited position with benefits. (NS01445P/TL5856) Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. Normal work days and hours vary. 40 hours per week. Hours may vary depending on demand and the time of year. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Must also have good merchandise awareness with the proven skills of proper merchandise displays.

Working Conditions
Occasional work at external locations such as athletic stadiums, and community festivals. This involves exposure to various weather conditions and requires the ability to maintain a professional brand image in non-traditional retail spaces. The nature of this role will require some flexibility for irregular hours at times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate events. It will require travel to various store locations. Regular physical requirements include standing for extended periods during events, navigating retail floor layouts, and the ability to lift and transport merchandise bins or display equipment (up to 30 lb.) for mobile unit setups.
