Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is seeking a highly organized, dynamic, and innovative individual with a background in preventative health
education and working with young adults to serve in this 10-month, part-time (30 hours per week) position as the Wellness Coordinator for
Counseling and Wellness Services. Gettysburg College is a highly selective, residential undergraduate liberal arts college, which enrolls
approximately 2,200 students.
The Wellness Coordinator is a member of the College Life Division and is responsible for developing,
implementing and leading campus-wide student wellness outreach and health promotion programs and practices. The objective of this position
is to foster an environment that promotes holistic student well-being, health education and personal development. The person in this
position needs to be highly-motivated; detail-oriented and a strong collaborator as well as a self-starter who can establish strong working
relationships with staff, student workers, and campus partners. The Wellness Coordinator will support departmental programs/services and
take the lead on programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Executive Director of Counseling &
Wellness and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to wellness for students emphasizing personal and community
well-being including, but not limited to, substance use; suicide prevention; financial, emotional and physical wellness - Plan,
implement, and evaluate monthly evidence-informed wellness outreach activities, programs and initiatives for student body utilizing
Gettysburg College’s wellness dimensions - Collaborate with community partners to coordinate wellness activities, programs and
initiatives for student body - Develop strategic, creative marketing campaigns and disseminate wellness education and awareness
materials on campus (social media, web-based, email, print) - Co-lead College Life Wellness Advisory Committee
- Co-lead peer
education program, including training, supervision, and providing ongoing support for peer educators campus wellness initiatives and
outreach - Maintain coordinated programming calendar for campus-wide wellness activities, programs and initiatives
- Develop
goals, and measurable objectives for wellness promotion and risk prevention/reduction activities, programs and initiatives in coordination
with Executive Director of Counseling & Wellness and other campus partners - Assist in development, implementation, and analysis of
student wellness surveys and program evaluation tools - Assist with initiating, processing, and maintaining records and invoices
- Reflect principles of inclusion & belonging into all aspects of wellness activities, programs and initiatives in order to meet needs of
all students - Other duties as assigned
This is an hourly position with a pay rate of
$20-$23.00/hour
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required. Most relevant degree areas include public
health, health education, or social work. Degrees in other fields will be considered with evidence of sufficient university-level coursework
and/or professional continuing education in the areas listed above - Demonstrated knowledge of health topics and current trends
relevant to college student populations such as substance use, mental health, sleep and technology usage - Knowledge of health issues
and impact on specific student populations (athletes, Greek affiliates, underrepresented identities) - Ability to produce clear,
concise, and compelling written content - Demonstrated experience with marketing and social media platforms
- Evidence of
ability to provide leadership and problem-solving skills - Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working
relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community collaborators - Ability to work well independently and also to collaborate
and communicate effectively with groups - Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details
- Ability to work
periodic evening and weekend hours - Must have reliable transportation
