The Nurse Manager provides leadership and administrative supervision for clinical services in a
comprehensive student focused medical care service for a population of 14,000 students. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills
and excellent abilities to manage both internal and external customers. The Nurse Manager position is an integral part of Student Health
Leadership and responsible for all nursing functions and coordination of nursing care in all clinics. Responsibilities include leadership
and management of RNs, LPNs, and medical assistants, staffing, budget, equipment, facilities management, personnel, purchasing, supplies,
and staff training. This position is also responsible for the clinical aspects of the accreditation process including environment of care
and infection control.
Ensures optimum quality primary, preventive, and/or mental health care through implementation of professional
nursing knowledge and techniques. Works with the Medical Director and Director of Operations as a team to support physicians and nurse
practitioners through the creation of schedules, the feedback and counseling of employees, and conducting performance evaluations. In
coordination with Campus Health leadership, this position develops, implements, and enforces nursing standards, policies, and procedures
utilizing the Standards of Practice for Nurses from the American College Health Association and Accreditation Association of Ambulatory
Health Care. The Nurse Manager will institute a comprehensive training program to ensure that all clinical staff are knowledgeable regarding
the performance of their duties and ensure optimum delivery of quality nursing practices and coordination of care. This position will direct
efforts for infection control and safety and coordinate the success of these efforts with departmental and campus stakeholders.
This
is a full-time, 12-month position with some weekend and evening hours required. This position may also require participation in off-campus
programs.
