Job
Description Summary

The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine is currently looking for part-time, temporary servers
to assist in the WVSOM Student Center and O’Cafe for small to large events as needed. This position is a temporary position with a pay of
$25 per hour, up to 37.5 hours per week as needed or requested; no benefits.

receipt. Candidates are subject to employment and credential verification, reference and background checks.

Duties and
Responsibilities

  • Position would deliver, set up, serve, and cleanup catered events.
  • Maintain “on time” delivery
    schedule for catered events.
  • Prepare and mix ingredients as requested.
  • Maintain food service area and assist the Director
    and Assistant Director as needed.
  • Ensure proper storage of leftover food items.
  • Maintain a clean sanitary workplace in
    accordance with county, state, and federal regulations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as directed.

Minimum Education
High School or GED

Required
Licenses/Certification

This position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus at least one year of recent and related
experience, though a combination of education and experience may be considered. Position also requires the obtainment of a WV food handler’s
permit.

Skills Required

  • Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group
    of individuals;
  • Ability to use and operate commercial kitchen equipment;
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical
    calculations;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills to communicate clearly and concisely with a broad and diverse group
    of individuals;
  • Ability to learn and/or operate a cash register;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise
    judgment;
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Job duties are performed in a standard work environment and require
    bending, stooping, standing, and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
