Summary:
The School of Dental Medicine (SDM) welcomes applications for full-time Dental Hygienists to provide
comprehensive patient care across all areas of specialized dentistry. This role requires extensive, progressively responsible experience in
delivering preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services, including conducting patient assessments, performing dental cleanings
(prophylaxis and scaling and root planing), taking and interpreting radiographs, and educating patients on oral health practices.
Responsibilities also include preparing and positioning patients, maintaining and organizing clinical areas, adhering to strict infection
control and sterilization protocols, and collaborating with dental teams in specialties such as oral and maxillofacial surgery,
periodontics, endodontics, and restorative dentistry to support effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform
thorough and gentle prophylaxis to patients - Perform scaling, root planing and selective polishing for patients as
appropriate - Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act
- Place medicaments subgingivally for periodontal
disease treatment - Take radiographs of patients as prescribed by dentist
- Maintain a supply inventory for hygiene
treatment - Review, select and submit orders for patient education materials for the practice
Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current, valid licensure as a dental
hygienist from the from the Colorado Dental Board
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology a
plus - Recent experience working in a fast-paced dental environment
- Experience working with students and faculty in a higher
education and/or academic medical environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Outstanding
interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of individuals - Ability to prioritize and
multi-task - Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in decision
making - Excellent customer service skills
- Strong oral communication skills
- Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA
guidelines

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this
position has been established as $65,375-$75,847
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and
reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation,
depending on the level.
