Job Description
The ETSU College of Nursing, Office of Practice, invites applications for a full-time Information Research Technician 2 for their on-campus University Health Center.
The Information Research Tech 2 provides administrative and operational support for the University Student Health Center, assisting with data collection, report preparation, and processing orders and payments. This role supports student orientations, immunization tracking, insurance claim review, and front office operations, including patient check-in, answering phones, and responding to routine inquiries. The position also assists with training student workers and performs other duties to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of electronic health records system (NextGen) is highly recommended.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Must observe all HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent computer skills using the standard Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and error free work.
- Knowledge of business English and arithmetic.
- Ability to perform basic informational research projects.
- Ability to gather and compile data.
- Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.
- Ability to multitask.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED.
- One (1) year of relevant medical office experience.
- Must sign a privacy agreement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using basic statistical research techniques and methodology.
- Experience in ETSU systems (eBucs, Banner)
