Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Business


The Position: The College of Business and Technology (COBT) invites qualified candidates to apply for a faculty position in the
School of Business to start in August 2026.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must hold a master’s degree in a relevant
field. Candidates with a doctoral degree in a relevant field will be preferred, and candidates in ABD status will be considered. The School
of Business is seeking a generalist who can teach courses across the school’s Business curricula. Candidates holding a doctoral degree in a
relevant field will be considered for a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment. Candidates without a doctoral degree will be
considered for a Lecturer appointment. ABD candidates would be hired with a Lecturer appointment that may be converted to an Assistant
Professor appointment upon completion of the doctorate.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability: We seek candidates with broad expertise and
teaching interests that cover a variety of Business disciplines. Qualified candidates will have excellent communication skills and the
ability to work cooperatively with colleagues in a collegial campus community. Candidates will engage and advise a diverse student
population.

Faculty Responsibilities: Assistant Professor positions carry responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and
service, as well as student advising. Assistant Professors typically teach four sections per semester, advise students, serve on university
and college committees, and engage in professional development activities. Lecturers do not have scholarship responsibilities but teach five
classes per semester and are also responsible for advising and service. Teaching assignments will align with the qualifications of the
individual and the needs of the college. Candidates must be willing and qualified to teach in both traditional and online settings.
Candidates must be willing to serve, as assigned, on both COBT committees and Lander University committees. According to AACSB engagement
and impact guidelines, School of Business faculty engage with the local community according to their professional area of expertise. This
position requires the academic advising of students. Assistant professor candidates must demonstrate the potential and ability to conduct
scholarly research of sufficient quality and quantity to satisfy School of Business guidelines for AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA)
qualification. Lecturer candidates must demonstrate professional experience and engagement to satisfy the School of Business guidelines for
AACSB Instructional Practitioner (IP) qualifications.

 Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience.

The College: The College of Business and Technology consists of the School of Business, Department of Media and Design, and
Department of Applied Computing. The School of Business offers bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Financial Services, Management, Marketing,
and Entrepreneurship as well as an MBA and MS in Management. The primary focus of Lander University is teaching, and the College of Business
emphasizes a student-centered learning environment. The College of Business and Technology is AACSB accredited. The University offers an
