Job Description
The ETSU College of Nursing invites applications for a PRN Pharmacy Technician. This position is located at the Johnson City Community Health Center Pharmacy.
The pharmacy technician will help to increase the pharmacy’s efficiency by assisting the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions and maintaining the day-to-day activities in the Pharmacy, as well as helping to provide the highest level of patient care and customer service. For successful job performance, the pharmacy technician should be flexible, demonstrate keen attention to detail, exhibit initiative, and be willing to work as part of a team.
This is a temporary position working 15-22 hours per week.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Qualified, knowledgeable, able, and prepared to perform all the duties required within the Pharmacy.
- Possesses basic math and typing skills.
- Communicates effectively with patients and other healthcare providers.
- Demonstrates keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrates ability to operate a computer system.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician through the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy (must obtain before date of hire.)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board OR able to obtain within one (1) year from the date of hire; must be enrolled in a PTCB course within 3-6 months of hire.
Compensation & Benefits:

- Hourly rate: $21.33
