Salary: $12 per hour

Required: Required: Comfortable working on your feet and able to lift up to 20 lbs. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to count cash and perform basic math accurately. Flexible availability.

Preferred: Preferred: Customer service or retail experience. Spanish speaking preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet visitors promptly and genuinely, re-engage appropriately.
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service to all museum and gift shop visitors.
  • Keep up to date on current inventory/product knowledge to increase customer engagement and sales.
  • Accurately speak to MoBB memberships and upcoming events to help generate revenue.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.

Visual Merchandising

  • Implement “close to open” strategy by keeping Gift Shop organized, clean, and stocked daily.
  • Unpack and ticket merchandise deliveries.

Operational

  • Consistently demonstrate punctuality and dependability
  • Accurately manage POS systems by receiving and processing cash, check, and credit card transactions.
  • Protect all MoBB assets while ensuring a safe environment for all visitors and staff.
  • Conduct inventory as needed.
  • Occasionally available nights and weekends for MoBB/Gift Shop events.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
  • Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
