Overview
The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Director for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). This position reports to the AVP, Operations & Services. The Associate Director is responsible for all aspects of facilities maintenance operations and services for the Camden campus which include the following categories: environmental services; grounds services; maintenance and repair and event support operations as well as providing oversite to Utilities and Renovations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Communicate in a clear, concise, and timely manner. Communications should support a professional tone delivering information in a verbal, written, and/or electronic format.
- Work collaboratively with peers and Rutgers community incorporating distinctive perspectives sharing intellectual resources to develop and implement the best possible solution.
- Generate good will and advocacy amongst peers and Rutgers community supporting a safe and harmonious work environment.
- Engage in professional development supporting Right-to-Know, Marketplace, KRONOS, and all other sanctioned programs.
- Dress in a professional manner in accordance with department policy and/or guidelines.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with extensive experience in maintenance or facilities management and utilities operation.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience with demonstrated leadership and management skills in a highly complex organization.

- Outstanding human relations, organizational, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of facilities management in a university setting.
