This is a professional position with overall responsibility for the management of all Central Campus facilities and construction
projects.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s Degree from a nationally,
regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education, preferably in an Engineering, Architectural or
Business-related field. Master’s degree in related field is preferred.
Five or more years’ facilities and construction-related
management experience, preferably in a college or university setting with a bachelor’s degree. Two or more years’ facility and construction
management experience within a college or university setting with a master’s degree.
Knowledge Skills and Ability :

Ability to coordinate the activities of Facilities Management, facilities design and construction, and renovation and maintenance of
existing facilities as well as direct the operations and supervise all aspects of Facilities and Construction including Building
Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance, Custodial Services, and Utility Services. - Ability to coordinate and communicate with college
personnel at all levels and across the organization, - Excellent leadership and management skills,
- Ability to foster
effective teamwork, communication and collaboration within Facilities and Construction. - Ability to respond to and resolve
incidents quickly - Demonstrated presentation skills
- Ability to read and understand complex agreements and/or
contracts
- Ability to lead and manage engagement and interests with architects and engineering firms.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the entire Facilities and Constructive division. Provide direct supervision of the Building
Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance, and Custodial Services functions and to the Director, Facilities and Construction. - Initiate and
manage Facilities and Constructions communications to the campus community. Strengthen relationships and customer service between Facilities
and the campus community. Present as needed to the campus community and Board of Trustees. - Oversee operations to maintain safe
and usable buildings. Ensure personnel keep critical systems such as elevators, fire alarm systems, electrical distribution systems and
other utilities operational at all times without interruption to the college’s educational purposes. - Organize and maintain a sound
preventative maintenance program for all areas of responsibility as well as provide adequate tools, equipment, and training to division
personnel. - Serve as the primary point of contact for all facilities planning activities to include the college master
planning. - Develop and closely manage all department operating budgets, capital project budgets and construction project spend as
well as oversee the purchase of department supplies, materials, and repair parts through the college requisition system. - Initiate
and manage RFPs, RFQs and necessary bids in accordance with college policies. Critically review contracts for accuracy and relevancy. Works
closely with Business Services. - Maintain an effective system to ensure the safety of all students, faculty and staff. Implement
policies and training programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and college safety, regulatory and accreditation
requirements. Ensure the security of all campus structures and assets through continuous observation, scheduled inspections and preventive
maintenance. - Develop and manage a campus energy/utility management strategy for electricity, natural gas, propane, water, etc.
including oversight of the campus water system. - Lead and manage the college’s engagement and interests with the architect and
engineering firm of record and other external contracts.
- Perform other duties as required or approved by the Vice
Chancellor.
