Department Summary
Bobcat Depot strives to be a highly engaged and dedicated team, providing a
customer-first mindset. They are OHIO’s one-stop-shop for technology, apparel and gifts centrally located in Baker University Center. Bobcat
Depot is an authorized Apple Campus Store that is also an authorized reseller of Lenovo and Microsoft products.
Position Overview:
Direct oversight of the Bobcat Depot business operations and staff. Includes
software/hardware sales for students and all university departments, support questions, training of staff/students, processing of ID cards,
inventory of hardware/software, satisfy the on-going requirements of maintaining an Apple Campus Store, budget of Bobcat Depot, marketing of
Bobcat Depot to departments/incoming students and current students, maintaining web site, and quarterly updates. Assist customers with
Microsoft installs, Adobe installs, & other basic tech support. Provide information regarding vendor/manufacturer policies, terms and
warranties. License all apparel and gift items within the retail space. Plan and coordinate offsite sales locations for special
events.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead Bobcat Depot:
Develop strategic business objectives to support our goals. Direct staff through evaluation and education (supervising, coaching for
improved performance; employee performance evaluations, etc.). Develop, forecast and monitor store/department budget involving computer
hardware, software, supplies and service (analyzing financial objectives, establishing budget and monitoring financial procedures). Oversee
that daily deposits and cash handling procedures/policies are followed and completed in a timely fashion. Calculate monthly sales tax report
submitted to state. Compile monthly departmental billings which is submitted to Finance for processing. Manage the acquisition and
dispersal/sales of computer hardware, software, accessories. This includes selecting products appropriate to sell at the store (educate
sales staff; display, pricing and merchandising products and services.) Create inventory control levels for the store, identify trends and
determine action plan, evaluate outcomes. Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors. Facilitate large hardware and software
purchases, as well as apparel and gift items.
Support:Assist students, faculty and staff with
technology needs. Monitor customer experience and customer services related concerns. Create and maintain a retail store (supplies, signs,
demo units, display racks/bookcases, etc.). Ensure the requirements of our Apple Campus Store contract is met (i.e. weekly inventory,
monthly sell-thru reporting, quarterly business plans).
Market: Establish promotional/marketing
programs for the Bobcat Depot (create advertising campaigns; in-store displays and signage, facilitate technology events; host
manufacturer’s reps; promote special sales opportunities; create social media content for store; and other related marketing strategies).
Create and maintain relationships with colleges to acquire their academic recommendations for software and computer hardware for the
students in order to provide our customers a list of what they will need (and also enable the Bobcat Depot to acquire these products for
resale). Create and edit web pages for Bobcat Depot (vendor specs, accessories, our services, on-line ordering page/form, academic
recommendations, etc.). Promote the Bobcat Depot for new faculty/ student orientations (this involves multiple orientations throughout the
school year and summer).
Software and Hardware Support: Microsoft installs, Adobe installs, & others.
Provide technical support to educational customers regarding vendor/manufacturer policies, terms and warranties.
Accountable for hiring, training, scheduling of, providing performance management, managing career development and salary
administration of contract and student staff. Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and technical expertise to the Bobcat Depot
team.
Position Profile
Oversees retail operations at campus stores. Procures inventory and
maintains inventory records. Distributes equipment, materials, and supplies. Promotes store through a variety of marketing
strategies.
Level Summary
Manages a work unit or a team and has full authority over personnel
actions within the work unit. Contributes to the development of the area’s operational plan, ensuring alignment with broader departmental or
institutional goals. Accountable for the achievement of the unit’s operational objectives, improving performance and addressing resource
needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages a medium-sized team. Directly oversees at least
2.0 FTE employees or one or more supervisors. Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, manage
performance, discharge, assign duties, reward, and discipline employees.
Fiscal Responsibilities
Responsible for managing team or department budgets and resources.
Problem Solving
Addresses departmental or cross-team issues, devises long-term solutions.
Independence of
Action
Acts independently, with consultation with senior management.
Communication and
Collaboration
Facilitates communication among team and higher-level leadership, builds relationships across
University.
Physical Requirements
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use
of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
Minimum
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5 or more years of related professional experience,
and 3 or more years of supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Pay Rate: The proposed salary range for this position is $44,592 to $74,196. The salary
negotiated at the time of offer will be commensurate with education and experience while also considering internal equity. For more
