Description
during an exciting period of curriculum redesign. We are especially interested in candidates with a background in marketing who are eager to
help modernize and grow our offerings in areas such as digital marketing, consumer behavior, and applied business strategy.
The ideal candidate holds an MBA (or a closely related field) and has the ability to teach a range of courses with a strong emphasis
on marketing, management, and applied business practices. Experience or interest in areas such as digital marketing, social media strategy,
consumer behavior, or entrepreneurship is highly valued.
Faculty will play a vital role in an ongoing curriculum redesign, helping to
shape innovative, career-focused programs that better serve both traditional and dual-enrolled students. This work focuses on ensuring
programs are relevant, engaging, and aligned with workforce needs. Courses are delivered in multiple modalities, including face-to-face and
online asynchronous formats using Canvas.
Successful candidates demonstrate a strong commitment to student success, use engaging and
student-centered teaching practices, and are excited to contribute to program innovation and growth, particularly through the development of
relevant, workforce-aligned marketing and business curriculum.
Full-time faculty teach a 5-5 load, with opportunities after the first
year for summer, Winterim, and overload assignments (up to 21 credit hours during the fall/spring semesters) for additional compensation.
Faculty are off contract during the summer and for approximately 2-3 weeks in the winter. The college uses shared course materials and
common assessments to support consistency while still allowing room for instructional creativity.
All new hires participate in Reiver
Week during the first week of August to prepare for their first year.
Job Duties
- This
position is responsible for teaching classes as assigned by the academic dean - Must evaluate and report student performances and
progress in courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures - Must meet Minimum Faculty Standards for hire and
adhere to college policies and procedures - The instructor will promote, develop, and deliver quality education programs with the
intent to retain students to graduation - Demonstrate IWCC’s core mission, vision, and values
- Meet minimum expectations for
use of the College Learning Management System (post the syllabus to the course page by college deadlines, record student attendance, and
maintain an accurate and current gradebook for all graded course activities) and for reports (roster verification, 5th week and 10th week
progress reports, final grades, and course assessments)
- Collaborate with department and academic dean to develop and
revise course and program curricula - Assess and document student learning outcomes in courses each term in accordance with college
policies and procedures - Collaborate with the department to analyze assessment of student learning data and develop plans for
continuous improvement - Participate in department, division, and college meetings
- Organize and teach labs as assigned by the
academic dean - Complete required professional development and trainings
- Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor with all
members of the college and community, contributing to a productive and growth-oriented work environment - Promote, model, and enforce
academic integrity - Be available to answer student questions outside of class time (student conferences can be held on campus in a
designated student conferencing space or via phone, web conferencing, or email) - Help students achieve their educational and career
goals - Refer students to college resources
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and Title IX
regulations - Adhere to safety policies and procedures
- Actively participate in college life and activities, such as shared
governance, student organizations, and commencement ceremonies - Other duties as assigned, which may include:
- Review faculty
credentials in consultation with the academic dean - Review student transcripts upon request
- Assist with instructor
orientations - Assist the college with accreditation standards
Qualifications
- A
master’s degree in Business or Marketing or a master’s degree with at least 12 credit hours in business or marketing
courses. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with
diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to
administration - Strong organizational skills including the ability to multitask, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and
electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output - Excellent customer service
skills - Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to read, write, and
speak English fluently - Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
- Ability to function
collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer-oriented team - Professional in communication, appearance, relationships, and
