Client Director – Higher Education & Public Sector

About East Point Consulting

East Point Consulting (EPC) is a specialized consulting and technology firm focused on helping
organizations modernize systems, improve operational effectiveness, and strengthen decision-making through better use of data.

While
a significant portion of EPC’s work is concentrated in higher education, the firm also supports public sector and select private
organizations facing similar challenges around system fragmentation, reporting inefficiencies, and operational complexity. EPC delivers a
combination of data strategy, analytics solutions, enterprise systems advisory, and implementation support to drive practical,
outcome-oriented results.

EPC’s core capabilities span:

  • Data Strategy & Analytics — modern data architecture,
    reporting, dashboards, and decision support
  • Enterprise Systems Advisory — ERP assessments, modernization strategy, and
    vendor-neutral guidance
  • Business Process & Operational Improvement — identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and
    aligning systems to real-world operations
  • Data Governance & Reporting Enablement — improving data quality, ownership, and
    consistency across the organization
  • Implementation & Delivery Support — guiding execution from roadmap through implementation
    and adoption
  • Managed & Ongoing Services — supporting sustained operations, reporting, and continuous improvement.

Higher Education Focus

Higher education represents a core area of focus for EPC, where the firm brings deep operational
understanding and purpose-built capabilities developed specifically for the sector.

Colleges and universities operate in complex,
decentralized environments with competing priorities across academic, financial, and administrative functions. EPC has developed both its
consulting approach and platform capabilities to address the realities of how these institutions operate—not how systems are theoretically
designed.

Within higher education, EPC commonly supports challenges such as:

  • Enrollment and retention volatility
  • ERP modernization and system transitions
  • Institutional reporting bottlenecks
  • Finance and workforce visibility
    gaps
  • Decentralized data ownership
  • Compliance and regulatory reporting demands
  • Executive demand for timely,
    trusted decision support

EPC’s platform and solution development efforts are heavily informed by this experience, with data
models, integration approaches, and reporting frameworks designed specifically for higher education use cases. This enables faster
time-to-value and more practical outcomes compared to generic or configurable-only solutions.

EPC partners with organizations ranging
from community colleges and major research universities to public sector entities and growing enterprises, all seeking a more scalable,
efficient, and sustainable approach to systems, data, and operations.

EPC’s depth of experience in higher education has created
strong operational fluency in complex, decentralized environments—capabilities that translate directly to other sectors with similar
characteristics. Across engagements, EPC commonly addresses challenges such as:

The Opportunity

EPC is seeking a Client
Director to drive growth and long-term client relationships, with a primary focus on U.S. higher education institutions and select public
sector organizations.

This is a consultative growth role responsible for new client acquisition, strategic account development, and
long-term revenue growth through the cultivation of executive relationships, guiding organizations through complex system and data
decisions, and driving sustained account expansion over time.

This role is designed for professionals who thrive in advisory and
consulting-led sales environments, where credibility, trust, and long-term value creation matter as much as closing the initial deal. You
will engage senior leaders, diagnose institutional challenges, co-create solutions, and serve as a consistent strategic partner throughout
the client lifecycle.

Typical engagements range from $200K to $2M+, depending on scope and organizational complexity.

What
You’ll Do

Strategic Business Development

  • Build and manage a pipeline of higher education institutions and aligned
organizations through targeted outreach, referrals, conferences, and relationship-based networking
  • Identify organizational
inflection points such as ERP transitions, leadership changes, enrollment pressure, or data modernization initiatives
  • Establish
senior-level relationships within target accounts early, before formal buying motions begin

Consultative Solution
Leadership

  • Lead discovery conversations that surface operational, financial, academic, and reporting challenges

  • Translate abstract institutional pain points into clear, tailored solution recommendations combining EPC’s platform and services

  • Position EPC against internal builds, generic BI tools, traditional system integrators, and fragmented vendor approaches
  • Build
compelling ROI narratives tied to efficiency, staffing leverage, governance, and executive decision-making

Executive
Relationship Ownership

  • Build and sustain trusted, long-term relationships with CIOs, CFOs, Provosts, IR leaders, Enrollment
    leaders, and operational executives
  • Operate as a strategic advisor— guiding organizations on what should be built and prioritized,
not just what can be sold
  • Represent EPC with credibility, discipline, and a partnership mindset

Deal &
Engagement Leadership

  • Own opportunities end-to-end, from first conversation through contract execution
  • Coordinate
with cross-functional internal teams spanning leadership, product, data engineering, and delivery
  • Lead negotiations and navigate
    procurement processes, including RFP-driven environments
  • Maintain strong pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and CRM
    discipline

Client Growth & Expansion

  • Stay engaged after initial sale to ensure alignment, satisfaction, and
    long-term success
  • Partner with delivery teams to support smooth transitions from sales into execution
  • Identify expansion
opportunities across additional functional areas, business units, or service offerings

Market Presence & Feedback

  • Represent EPC at conferences, associations, and industry events
  • Build referral relationships with ecosystem partners and
    institutional advisors
  • Share market insights and client feedback to inform product direction and go-to-market strategy

Internal Coordination & Proposal Support

  • Collaborate closely with EPC leadership, delivery teams, and internal
stakeholders to align on strategy, pursuits, and client engagement approach
  • Partner with internal proposal and RFP response teams
to support active pursuits, including shaping response strategy, contributing content, and ensuring alignment with client needs

  • Track and follow up on opportunities arising from RFPs, outbound efforts, and partner channels
  • Maintain awareness of public sector
procurement processes and compliance considerations when engaging prospects and clients
  • Provide field-driven input to product and
development teams based on client needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics

What You Bring

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in consultative B2B sales, professional services, enterprise technology, or advisory-led business
    development
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and close multi-stakeholder deals with moderate to long sales cycles

  • Experience selling into higher education, public sector, or similarly complex organizations
  • Ability to build credibility with
senior stakeholders and navigate executive conversations with support from leadership when needed
  • Strong written and verbal
    communication skills
  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership in a lean, fast-moving environment

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience selling data, analytics, BI, cloud, managed services, or platform solutions

  • Familiarity with ERP ecosystems (Workday, Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, or similar)
  • Experience navigating RFP-driven procurement
    processes
  • Familiarity with core higher education functions—including finance, enrollment, institutional research, and
    reporting—and how they drive decision-making
  • Existing relationships within higher education leadership networks or public sector
    environments

Who Thrives in This Role

You are likely a strong fit if you:

  • Prefer consultative
    problem-solving over transactional selling
  • Enjoy leading executive-level conversations
  • Are motivated by long-term client
    success, not just short-term wins
  • Have patience and discipline navigating complex organizations
  • Want to build durable
client partnerships in a mission-driven sector

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary with performance-based
incentives; typical On-Target Earnings (OTE) range from $120,000 – $180,000+, with upside for strong performance
  • Fully remote role
    within the United States
  • 401(k) program with employer matching
  • Generous paid time off and sick leave
  • Flexible
work schedules in a remote-first environment
  • Comprehensive benefits options, including medical, dental, and vision plans

  • Direct access to executive leadership and involvement in strategic decisions
  • Opportunity to grow into expanded responsibility as
    the company scales
