The University at Albany is seeking a full-time, highly organized and detail-oriented nursing professional to serve as
the Clinical Coordinator for the Nursing Program within the College of Integrated Health Sciences. This position plays a critical role in
supporting clinical education operations for undergraduate nursing students, ensuring effective coordination of clinical placements,
maintenance of student clinical records, and tracking of simulation and virtual reality (VR) experiences used to meet clinical requirements.
The clinical coordinator should expect to manage a minimum of 200 new students each academic year.
The Clinical Coordinator serves as
a liaison between the nursing program, clinical affiliates, and community partners to ensure compliance with accreditation and state
regulations, optimize student clinical experiences, and support the overall success of clinical education within the
program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Clinical Lab Oversight and Advanced Management
- Lead the
development and coordination of lab schedules and open lab hours to maximize student engagement and skill acquisition across all nursing
courses. - Direct the scheduling of lab sections within the nursing curriculum, collaborating closely with faculty and academic
leadership to align with program objectives. - Oversee student skill validations, analyze performance, and design remediation plans to
ensure high competency standards. - Supervise the maintenance and continuous improvement of lab spaces, including high-level oversight
of equipment functionality, resource allocation, and inventory management. - Administer procurement strategies for lab equipment and
consumable supplies, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with curricular innovation. - Lead the implementation of
standardized, evidence-based lab experiences across all nursing courses, driving continuous quality improvement and compliance with
accreditation standards. - Design and manage comprehensive tracking systems for student competency and validation outcomes, providing
insights to support student progression and program excellence.

appropriate clinical placements for undergraduate and graduate nursing students in collaboration with faculty and clinical
partners. - Maintain up-to-date clinical affiliation agreements and ensure compliance with University and agency
policies. - Confirm placement details, schedules, and requirements with clinical adjuncts, students, and clinical sites.
- Serve
as the primary contact for clinical site inquirie. - Collaborate with faculty to support clinical curriculum
implementation. - Oversee student clinical clearance requirements, including health records, compliance, and onboarding
processes.

guide the development, revision, and continuous improvement of nursing curriculum. - Support ongoing curriculum updates to ensure

Relationships:
- Reports to Director of Nursing and collaborates with Faculty within the Nursing Program along with
Administrators within CIHS (i.e. Admin Manager for Nursing, Vice Dean of CIHS, Dean of CIHS). - Supervises clinical instructors
(Preceptors) at Albany Med as appropriate.

Minimum
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or
internationally recognized accrediting organization. - Current, unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State,
or eligibility for licensure. - 5+ years’ experience in clinical practice and experience working in the clinical areas (inpatient
and/or outpatient). - Certifications in BLS and ACLS.
- American Heart Association Instructor for
BLS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from a college or University accredited by the US
Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. - 10+ years’ experience in medical surgical areas with
a focus on didactic preceptorship experiences in leadership. - Hands-on experience in high acuity environments in both education and
practice. - Managerial experience in the nursing healthcare setting.
Working
Environment:
- Typical office environment and laboratory environment.
- Some traveling required to build
relationships with clinical partners.
Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Staff Associate, SL4,
$72,000-77,000.
