Job Description:

The Campus Store Head Lead serves as the student leader and primary support to store operations, acting as a key driver of business success within the Ville’age Campus Store. This role blends frontline customer service with leadership, operational oversight, and an entrepreneurial mindset to ensure the store is the #1 destination on campus for all things Manhattanville.

This position is ideal for a motivated, dependable student who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is eager to develop leadership, business, and customer engagement skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    Business & Store Leadership

  • Support the administration and staff members in execution of daily retail tasks to drive sales, profitability and an accurate inventory
  • Maintain awareness of campus trends, customer preferences, and seasonal business needs
  • Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring the store reflects Manhattanville pride and identity

    Customer Experience & Service

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by actively engaging customers in a friendly, professional manner
  • Accurately complete all monetary transactions using POS systems such as Lightspeed and Ecwid
  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively help or product recommendations
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and service-driven store environment

    People & Team Leadership

  • Lead by example in professionalism, teamwork, and accountability
  • Support onboarding and peer training of student employees
  • Foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and open feedback with campus administration
  • Assist in coordinating team efforts during high-traffic events and peak business periods

    Operations & Merchandising

  • Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring operational readiness
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through restocking, merchandising, and organization
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times
  • Support execution of visual merchandising standards and promotional displays
  • Assist with scheduling needs and shift coverage when appropriate
  • Utilize basic sales data to support deposit and change requests change as needed to operate
  • Executing Annual Inventory in June

    Campus Engagement & Events

  • Support campus-wide events (Orientation, Admissions, Board Meetings, etc.) through extended hours and event preparation
  • Collaborate with campus partners to align store hours for special events

    Qualifications:

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

    Experience:

    At least two years of related experience required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand and move throughout the duration of a shift
    • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 40 pounds
    • Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform light physical tasks as needed

    Salary:

    This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $22.00.

    Hours Expectation:

    Part-time, 29 hours or less per week

    • Flexible schedule based on business needs
    • Availability for variable shifts, including evenings, peak periods, and campus events
    • Required availability during high-traffic campus periods

    Housing:

    Housing is not provided.
