Job Description Summary:
This is a
full-time position which includes teaching 5 or more courses per regular semester and other core faculty
responsibilities.
Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline. Teach assigned courses in a variety of
times and locations in response to institutional need. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college
classes.
Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials
to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
Maintain appropriate
professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
Advise students in the Business
Programs.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to plan course instruction based upon
approved syllabus/ outline provided to insure course content and objectives are met.
Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles
and methods to accommodate various learning styles of students.
Successful experience utilizing instructional technologies, including
computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
Ability to advise students in the programs of the
department.
Ability to teach and communicate with students of varied multi-cultural backgrounds.
Minimum
Qualifications:
M.B.A. or Masters degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in a business-related field with a Bachelors
degree in business administration and/or management fields.
Demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.
Three (3)
years work experience in management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Full-time Teaching experience in a
community college (15 or more hours).
Knowledge and experience advising students in a community college setting.
Proficient
using Colleague Ellucian and Civitas to advise and register students.
Proficient in business program degree plans.
DMC Level 1 Fundamentals of Online Teaching Completed.
Experience teaching and advising in the Bachelors of
Applied Science in Organizational Management degree.
Experience in course design utilizing open educational
resources.
Experience teaching college level online/hybrid/face-to-face courses using a learning management system (e.g. Blackboard,
Canvas).
Proficient in using Microsoft Office products (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams).
Experience using video
conferencing tools to conduct meetings/trainings (i.e. Microsoft Teams and/or Zoom).

Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning

Provide students with a written and accessible course syllabus that follows the Course Syllabus
Guidelines and facilitates a clear understanding between student and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations,
evaluation methods and schedule of work.
Maintain a classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning in face to face and
online modalities.
Hold scheduled, posted virtual or physical office hours of at least one (1) hour daily and be available for and
encourage conferences with students so there is a clearer understanding of the students work and the possibility of
improvement.
Assist with marketing programs and recruiting students.

assessments of program and institutional student learning outcomes and program practices to bring about action plans devised to implement
systemic improvement in programs and assure compliance with professional standards, state-mandated guidelines, and requirements of
business/industry and higher education.

formulation of goals and objectives and budget priorities.
Meet professional assignments in accordance with the College
calendar.
Participate in business and/or community activities that promote the mission of the College.
Occasional nights and
weekends may be required for advising, registration, recruiting, or other special events.
